Câu 9 · 9/24
Read the passage and answer questions 9–12.
Plastic bags are convenient, and many shops provide them to customers. However, their use can have environmental outcomes that are easy to overlook, especially when bags are discarded carelessly.
Some communities encourage shoppers to reduce unnecessary single-use bags. Collection and recycling arrangements differ between places, so shoppers need to check local guidance rather than assume every bag belongs in the same bin.
Once they become litter, plastic bags can enter waterways, parks, beaches and streets. Animals may mistake plastic for food, which can harm them. Plastic can also break into smaller pieces called microplastics; becoming smaller does not mean that it has disappeared from the environment.
Shoppers can reduce waste by using bags they already own for as long as possible. Keeping a reusable bag ready can help avoid unnecessary new bags. Appropriate disposal and following local collection rules are also important.
